to sabotage or destroy anything that could potentially become more beautiful than our egos perceive our own selves to be.
I watched American Beauty last night for the first time. I know I’m about 10 years behind its following, but I quite enjoyed it. This one particular line made me weep like a toddler who just discovered what happens when one sticks a fork into an electrical socket:
“Sometimes there’s so much beauty in the world I feel like I can’t take it, like my heart’s going to cave in. “
Somebody wrote that, somebody, somehow, understands.
